🏉 COMMUNITY FUNDING BOOST FOR OUR WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ RUGBY 🏉
Silloth Rugby Football Club is delighted to have been awarded a Community Fund grant from the Crime and Communities Fund to help our women’s and girls’ squads continue to blossom.
The funding will allow the club to provide age-appropriate equipment for the squad, including new and modern rugby balls, as well as travel tops for the ladies to wear on match days and while proudly promoting the club within the community. Funding for rugby kit and equipment aimed at increasing girls’ participation in the sport was approved as part of the grant.
As a committee, the ladies’ and women’s section is one of our top priorities. Receiving support from the Community Fund is fantastic, and we are absolutely delighted to have been chosen.
We are also looking forward to welcoming the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, David Allen, to the club in the near future so he can see for himself the outstanding work that Silloth Rugby Football Club and the wider rugby community are doing for the town and local community.
A huge thank you also goes to PSCO Peter Nichol for his support and guidance throughout the application process, which was greatly appreciated by everyone involved at the club.
We must, and we will, continue to support Philip Scott and the fantastic work he is doing alongside his helpers and volunteers. The transformation throughout the whole squad is there for everyone to admire, and the progress being made both on and off the field has been outstanding.
